Bryant wins national technology awards for innovation in emergency preparedness

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Bryant University has won two national awards for its Collaborative Public Safety Network: the Campus Technology Innovators Award, and the Institutional Excellence Award from the Association for Information Communications Technology Professionals in Higher Education.

The network enables first responders throughout Rhode Island and nearby states to communicate with one another regardless of the communication equipment they use.

Economic Summit

An Economic Summit being held at Bryant University on Friday, August 29th. Addressing key economic issues, forum speakers will include the Honorable David M. Walker, Comptroller General of the United States from November of 1998 until March of 2008 and Ernest Almonte, incoming Chairman of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, which is the national, professional organization for over 350,000 Certified Public Accountants in the United States. There will also be sessions focusing on topics such as: Economic Issues and Perspectives; Transparency in Global Financial Markets; Multinationals in the Global Economy and Small & Medium Enterprises in a Global Economy.

BRISTOL, R.I., Aug. 4, 2008 – Roger Williams University has partnered with the Housing Network of Rhode Island to develop a new program that will provide education and training opportunities related to community development. In fall 2008, the program, “Partnership for Community Development,” will offer its first two community development courses at RWU’s Providence campus. “This collaboration underscores the University’s commitment to supporting the academic needs of the greater community,” said RWU President Roy J. Nirschel. “And it’s one that capitalizes on resources we can offer through academic strengths such as public administration, business, architecture and others.”
