SMITHFIELD – A team of Bryant University sophomores recently took first place in a business plan contest at Babson College, earning $27,500 to develop their idea for a water purification business.

Rhode Island freshman and sophomores participated in a two-day program held June 11 and 12 at Bryant University designed to encourage careers in international business and foreign relations while learning about the global economy. A pilot program the National offce of the Links, Incorporated, the L.I.F.E. program, the acronym for Linkages in International Business & Foreign Affairs Empowerment for Youth, was sponsored by the Greater Providence, RI chapter of Links, Incorporated and Bryant University.

More than 500 business people are expected to attend the conference.
