AICU Rhode Island Welcomes LinenDrops as a New Community Partner

LinenDrops is a Rhode Island-based, women-owned business providing linen rentals to a variety of customers, including colleges and universities. All linens are high quality, professionally laundered, packaged in per-person sets, and delivered in wheeled linen carts for ease of distribution and storage.

With many colleges and universities looking to quickly increase their housing capacity to create more COVID-19 isolation and quarantine space, linen rentals will play an essential role. Post COVID-19, linen rentals will continue to serve an important role during the busy summer conference and event season.

In Memoriam

AICU Rhode Island mourns the loss of Roger Mandle, former President of the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). During his tenure as RISD President from 1993-2008, Mandle worked tirelessly to transform RISD into the world-renowned art school that it is today. As a former AICU Rhode Island board member, Roger served as the AICU Rhode Island Chair from 1999 to 2003.

AICU Rhode Island remembers the life of Roger Mandle as one of dedication to the arts and to the larger Rhode Island Community as RISD President. The AICU Rhode Island board extends its deepest sympathies to his wife, Gayle; and two children, Luke and Lorna.

On May 5, 2008, AICU Rhode Island recognized Roger Mandle at his last meeting as a member of the Board. The Board formally acknowledged Roger’s 15 years of dedicated service and contribution to the Rhode Island School of Design as well as the community as a whole. As a token of appreciation, AICU Rhode Island acquired this piece of art (Off-Shore, 2008) from the collection of Gayle Wells Mandle, Roger’s wife. The proceeds benefited the Roger and Gayle Mandle Scholarship Fund at RISD. The artwork is proudly displayed in the office in honor of our friend Roger Mandle, the 15th President of RISD and Chair of the AICU Rhode Island Board.
